What is Medication Synchronization?
For your convenience, Gibson Discount Pharmacy offers medication synchronization, a program that allows you to pick up all your maintenance medications once a month or every three months.
Here’s how the program works:
First, you enroll in medication synchronization at Gibson Discount Pharmacy.
Once you are enrolled, our staff will review your ongoing monthly medications and develop a plan to synchronize them so they can be picked up on a single day each month that is convenient for you.
One of our staff members may call you to confirm your pick-up date about a week prior and identify any necessary changes that should take place before your prescriptions are filled.
After reviewing any changes in your medications, one of our pharmacists will prepare each prescription and create one package for simple pick-up on your scheduled date.
On your scheduled day, you pick up all of your prescriptions at our pharmacy. While there, you can ask the pharmacist any questions you may have about your medications.
This process will continue each month, so you can pick up all your medications at once, and the pharmacist can identify potential issues to help you take your medication as prescribed.
Because many people miss doses of their regular medications, medication synchronization can make them more likely to take their meds as directed. Not only that, it eliminates the need to call in multiple prescription refills. Fewer trips to the pharmacy are necessary, and you have the opportunity to meet with your Gibson Discount Pharmacy pharmacist on a monthly basis to discuss your medications.
Medication synchronization is especially helpful for those taking multiple, ongoing monthly medications, elderly patients, and those new to chronic drug therapy.
